VISIT TO GREECE (20 - 25 JANUARY 2010)

The second meeting of our project was in Greece, in Volos from 20/01/2010 to 25/01/2010.

There were 17 teachers from the participant countries and It was the first participation of 14 students (2 or 3 from each country).The conference was given at the school library of the "4th Geniko Likeio Volou".

During the mornings, teachers and children were working seperately and at the same time as well .Children had also the possibility to be in a class and attend a lesson. A "Logo competition" took place and organised by them,too. Everyday phrases from each country( presented by children) were shown on videos.

All students promptly were trying to learn each other's language after that and then listen to everyone's cds with traditional and modern songs, that had brought from their countries.They also saw their greek peers dancing traditional dances and they danced with them. They organised basketball and volleyball competitions and had a lot of fun all together.

Teachers talked about all the topics that were on the protocole and arranged everything for their next meeting in Italy on 5th May.On our last night we all(teachers,parents,children) had a farewell dinner, where we had the chance to taste once again traditional greek food cooked by children's parents and watch and dance greek traditional dances.

During the weekend they all had the chance to meet the Prefect of Volos, visit the archaeological museum, and go sightseeing on the beautiful mountain Pelion and its 24 villages.

Teachers, children and parents were very satisfied and glad after this meeting and as parents said, they will be in contact with the children they met and their parents from now on.It was a pleasant time for all of us.
